Dear Belfast Families,

Well, as you can tell from our “Important Dates” section above, we are starting the chaos of spring in an elementary school.  Please be sure to add all key dates to your family calendar!  Leadership Club tried to keep the organized Spirit Days simple, with only one dress up day and one day to bring something.  Thank you for embracing the excitement of the busy spring season!  We look forward to seeing all of you at our “The Aristocats” production this week!

Follow us on Instagram!

We encourage all our families to follow our school’s Instagram account (@BelfastSchoolcbe) and visit our school website to see pictures from the week.  If you do not see your child on Instagram, it may be because they do not have clearance.  Please call the office if you have any questions about clearance.

Gaga Pit Build:  Wednesday, May 28 @ 5:00 PM

We desperately need volunteers to help us out on Wednesday evening.  Cold drinks and pizza will be provided for all volunteers who help us build the new Gaga Ball pit.  It should take us a few hours to get it all done.  Thank you to Blain, one of our dads, for leading this build.

Pie-in-the-Face Next Week

Thank you to our generous families, we raised over $500 for RMHC!! We will have staff be pied in the face on Tuesday at 9:30.   We will combine this amount with our Slurpee fundraiser and donate that to RMHC on Tuesday.  Ms. Davidoff, who volunteers at RMHC, will be in attendance to accept the donation.

Reminder:  Artistocats Performances

We are SO excited to share “The Aristocats” with all of you on Thursday, May 29.  Here is some important information:

·         The matinee is at 10:15. Doors open at 10:00.  This show is for families and extended family members

·         The evening performance is for immediate family only due to space (just like our previous concerts and productions).  Doors open at 5:30; guests will head to the gym and students will head to their classrooms. The play starts at 6:00.

·         There is no cost to attend the play; there will be a donation jar if you’d like to donate to future productions, but it is not expected

Mr. U is looking for some parents to help with makeup for the evening performance; if you are able to do this, you would need clearance and would head into the classrooms at 5:30.  Please email Mr. U at djursenbach@cbe.ab.ca if you can help out and he will let you know which class to go to.

Reminder:  Friends Pizza Fundraiser – May 28

On May 28, we will be partnering again with Friends Pizza, at 312, 2066 18 Avenue NE (403-374-3637).  15% of all sales that night will be donated to Belfast School.  The Parent Fundraising Society encourages everyone to order in that night!  Thank you!

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have anything you would like to share.

Have a wonderful long weekend,

Meagan Lundgren
