School Spirit

• We come together as a whole school for many events: spirit/theme days, Community groups (cross-graded groups), annual round dance, Fun Runs, etc. 
• We offer many clubs and opportunities: leadership, coding, crochet, Polar Bear, run club, etc. 
• We offer extra program enrichment opportunities: artist and physical education residencies, field trips, etc. 
• We recognize our students are young; fun and play are important, so we incorporate special activities throughout the year, like the Elf on the Shelf and spontaneous dance parties  
• We invite families to join us in school events, like our Welcome Back BBQ, celebrations of learning, the Terry Fox Run, school-wide round dance, etc.  
• We connect to the greater Mayland Heights community through active citizenship: postcards for seniors, letters for the neighbors, etc. 
• We are a Blue Jays affiliate school, Ever Active Schools member, Healthy School designation that promote wellness and active living  
• We prioritize learning on and from the land
