Dear Belfast Families,

Thank you to everyone for coming out to our Family Movie Night last night! Thank you in particular to our Leadership Club students for running the event, and to our staff for their supervision. We sold 208 tickets, with all money raised going to our Belfast Parent Fundraising Society. The Fundraising Society helps fund things like school shirts, our Welcome Back BBQ, and other school enrichment initiatives. Thank you for supporting our school!

Follow us on Instagram @BelfastSchoolcbe. If you do not see your child on Instagram and would like to, please complete the annual authorization form on MyCBE/SchoolEngage.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Meagan Lundgren

All Classes Out of the School for Activities in April

Thanks to a $5,000 grant we received, all students will get to take part in an offsite physical activity in April:

  • Kindergarten – Grade 2: Swimming lessons at Renfrew
  • Grades 3, 4: Climbing at The Hangar
  • Grades 5, 6, and LEAD: Sport Choices at MNP

We will need volunteers to make these events happen – thank you to Ms. S for making great use of this grant! All students will only pay a small fraction of the cost, roughly $13. We are so fortunate to have received this grant, but still need families to pay their share. Stay tuned for more information and forms coming home in the upcoming weeks.

Cornerstone Youth Centre (Grades 5/6) – Free Community Opportunity!

Did you know that Cornerstone Youth Centre, located just blocks from Belfast, has free youth programming after school, including Fridays? The CYC is non-denominational, free, and also provides food to students during afterschool programs. Students can register for either Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays, and anyone can drop in on Fridays. If your Grade 5/6 student is home alone after school, bored, or could use some fun community engagement, check them out! There are already some Belfast students who attend, so your child should have friends to walk with. View the monthly calendar and register your child here.

Sharing Back | School Planning

Thank you to everyone who participated in our school planning engagement at School Council in February. We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. The feedback we received is compiled on our website here and will be thoughtfully considered in making decisions about school planning. Please take a moment to read the feedback.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have anything you would like to share.
