Dear Belfast Families,

We hope that you all have a wonderful spring break!  Whether you are travelling or staying home, we hope that you are able to spend time with your children, other family members, and friends. Spring is always busy at elementary schools, and we know that the time flies once we are come back from break because of school events, field trips, and exciting learning opportunities.  We will see you back on March 31!

To our families celebrating Eid, we know that many students may not be at school the first few days back from the break; as always, please call the office if your child is going to be away.  For those of you celebrating, Eid Mubarak!

Follow us on Instagram!

We encourage all our families to follow our school’s Instagram account (@BelfastSchoolcbe) and visit our school website to see pictures from the week.  If you do not see your child on Instagram, it may be because they do not have clearance.  Please call the office if you have any questions about clearance.

Thank you for Sharing your Thoughts!

Thank you to the 33 people who responded to our SDP/Budget Engagement.  We set a record for engagement last year with 24 respondents, and this year you surpassed even that!  We have read every single comment and piece of feedback and we will be sharing this with staff after the break, and with families at our next School Council meeting. We love hearing from all of you, and have already tweaked some plans based on the feedback. If you would like to look at the results and read all comments, you can see this information posted on our website here

Volunteers Needed for Kindergarten Field Trip

The kindergarten students are heading to Telus Spark on April 15 for a full day trip.  As many kindergarten parents do not have clearance, we are asking for other parents to help them out!  The bus leaves at 8:30 and returns at 3:00.  If any parents have clearance and can help out, please email Ms. Premji at nuapremji@cbe.ab.ca.  Thank you!

CUPE Strike Ended

Our caretaker, Ms. Cassandra, will be back to work tomorrow.  We are happy to welcome all CUPE members back to school and service units.

Students will be able to purchase a Slurpee on April 3 for $2.  Thank you to one of our parents, Rikki, who has arranged for our school to purchase each Slurpee for $1, meaning that $1 will be donated to Leadership Club’s charity of choice:  The Ronald McDonald House.

The Ronald McDonald House supports families whose children are receiving treatment at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.  For more information about RMHC, please visit their website here

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have anything you would like to share.
