Dear Belfast Families,
We would like to remind families that there is no school tomorrow, as it is a professional development day for teachers. Throughout the year, our teachers have been working in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to move forward our learning in the three key areas of the Education Plan: Learning Excellence, TRC, Diversity & Inclusion, and Well-being. Each teacher belongs to one of the three focus groups and has been improving their practice in this area all year. Tomorrow, teachers will present to one another to help move their colleagues’ practice forward as well. We continue to learn and improve at Belfast!
Follow us on Instagram!
We encourage all our families to follow our school’s Instagram account (@BelfastSchoolcbe) and visit our school website to see pictures from the week. If you do not see your child on Instagram, it may be because they do not have clearance. Please call the office if you have any questions about clearance.
Artistocats Performances
We are SO excited to share “The Aristocats” with all of you on Thursday, May 29.  Here is some
important information:
- The matinee is at 10:15. Doors open at 10:00.  This show is for families and extended family
members - The evening performance is for immediate family only due to space (just like our previous concerts and
productions). Doors open at 5:30; guests will head to the gym and students will head to their classrooms. The play starts at 6:00. - There is no cost to attend the play; there will be a donation jar if you’d like to donate to future productions, but it is not expected
 - Mr. U is looking for some parents to help with makeup for the evening performance; if you are able to do
this, you would need clearance and would head into the classrooms at 5:30. Please email Mr. U at djursenbach@cbe.ab.ca if you can help out and he will let you know which class to go to.
Friends Pizza Fundraiser – May 28
On May 28, we will be partnering again with Friends Pizza, at 312, 2066 18 Avenue NE (403-374-3637). 15% of all sales that night will be donated to Belfast School. The Parent Fundraising Society encourages everyone to order in that night! Thank you!
Reminder: School Council & Fundraising Society Recruiting for 2025/2026!
Belfast School Council & Fundraising Society are looking for 4 volunteers to join the executive team as Chair, Treasurer, or Secretary and Casino Coordinator.
These roles are a great way to connect with teachers and administration, help guide how fundraising dollars are spent, and support our school community. Avg. time: 2–6 hrs/month. No experience needed—mentorship provided!
Interested or want to learn more? Kim at belfastparentcouncil@gmail.com . Elections will be held at our AGM on June 17!
Reminder - Pie-in-the-Face Fundraiser for RMHC
Up until May 21, we will be selling the tickets for Pie-in-the-Face. Students can purchase as many tickets as they’d like and put their tickets in the envelope with the staff member’s name of whom they’d like to pie. On May 22 at 9:30, we will have an assembly; at that time, we will draw names from the envelope and that student can pie the staff member! Leadership Club students will be selling tickets each morning.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have anything you would like to share.
Have a wonderful long weekend,
Meagan Lundgren
Principal
