Dear Families,

Thank you to everyone who has supported Secret Path Week and donated to the Downie-Wenjack Fund. Throughout the week, students participated in meaningful learning opportunities that helped build awareness and understanding of Truth and Reconciliation, including learning about the history and ongoing impacts of residential schools.

Classes also took part in the Walk for Wenjack, working toward our goal of walking 400 km as a school community. We are still collecting and tallying both our kilometres and donations and look forward to sharing our final results soon.

If you have not yet had a chance to make a donation, we will continue to accept donations next week. Thank you for your generosity and for supporting this important learning and fundraising initiative.

Veterans’ Food Drive - October 26 - November 10

Belfast School is proud to support the annual Veterans' Food Drive from October 26 to November 10. This important campaign provides food and essential items to veterans and first responders in our community.

This food drive takes place during a meaningful time of year as we observe both Indigenous Veterans Day (November 8) and Remembrance Day (November 11). It provides an opportunity for students to reflect on the contributions and sacrifices of those who have served our country and communities, while demonstrating gratitude through service and giving.

Families who are able to contribute are invited to donate non-perishable food and household items. Suggested donations include:

  • Coffee and tea
  • Juice boxes
  • Cookies, crackers, and chips
  • Soup, chili, and pasta
  • Instant potatoes and meal helpers
  • Condiments
  • Toilet paper, paper towels, and Kleenex
  • Laundry detergent, deodorant, and other household essentials

Thank you for helping our students demonstrate kindness, compassion, and community spirit while supporting local veterans and first responders.

Digital Citizenship Plan 2026-2027

The Belfast Digital Citizenship Plan is now available on our school website for families to review.

Digital Citizenship Plan 26-27

Teaching digital citizenship is an important part of helping students navigate today's online world safely and responsibly. Throughout the year, students learn about topics such as creating secure passwords, protecting personal information, being respectful online, and making safe choices when using technology.

We encourage families to take a few moments to review the plan and continue these important conversations at home as we work together to support safe, responsible, and confident digital learners.
