Dear Families,

Thanks to all the families who came out to the Halloween Dance last night! It was a fun-filled evening and a wonderful way to bring our community together. A BIG thanks to the Belfast Fundraising Committee and student leadership students for organizing this dance and to all the staff and families who attended and helped!

AMA Student Safety Patrols Starting Next Week

We are happy to be starting our after-school AMA Student Safety Patrols on Tuesday November 4th. Please be mindful of student patrols and staff on duty each day after school.  The safety of our students is a shared responsibility. Please help support our student safety patrollers by following these important expectations:

  • Stop When Directed: Come to a complete stop whenever a patroller extends their stop sign and signals students to cross.
  • Make Eye Contact: Watch for patrollers using the "Point, Pause, Proceed" routine and make eye contact with them before moving through the crossing area.
  • Keep Crosswalks Clear: Please do not stop, park, or idle in crosswalks or intersections. Clear sightlines are essential for student safety and help patrollers do their job effectively.
  • Be Patient and Alert: Slow down in school zones, watch for pedestrians, and follow the directions of student patrollers during busy arrival and dismissal times.

Student Safety Patrollers play an important role in keeping our school community safe. Thank you for helping create a safe environment for everyone by following their directions and modelling safe driving practices.

School Spirit Day: Hat, Hair & Head Covering Day on November 5th!

Show your school spirit by wearing a fun hat, trying a creative hairstyle, or proudly wearing a head covering that is meaningful to you. Whether your style is silly, sporty, colourful, or traditional, we celebrate the many ways our school community expresses itself. We can't wait to see your creativity!

CBE Student Survey

Each year, Calgary Board of Education (CBE) students are invited to participate in surveys that gather feedback about their learning experiences, well-being, engagement, and school environment. Survey results help schools and the CBE evaluate programs, inform planning, and identify opportunities to better support student success and well-being. The CBE Student Survey is an anonymous, voluntary online perception survey administered twice during the school year. A shorter set of questions is administered in the fall, while the spring survey contains the full complement of questions. Surveys will be administered on November 9th and 10th.

Education Matters Grant

We are grateful to have received a $5,000 Education Matters grant to help equip students for learning. This funding helps ensure that Belfast students have access to essential supports, including winter clothing, nutritious food, and other learning materials that contribute to student success and well-being.

If you are looking for a way to support learning opportunities for students at Belfast, please consider donating through Education Matters. Your generosity helps provide resources and supports that make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and families.
