Dear Belfast families,

In the coming weeks, construction will commence to detach the modular unit from Belfast School. Last week, construction fencing was brought on site to enclose the space where work will begin in the school yard.

Once the work commences, crews will be onsite to disconnect the modular from its current location and it will be moved onto supports in the school yard. There will be work during school hours, but the areas where construction occurs will be closed off from students and staff. Noisy work will not take place during school hours.

The modular will be moved to their new school site in the late spring. An update will be sent to you closer to that time to provide more details.

During this process, we are committed to ensuring a safe environment for all students, staff and community members. To minimize disruptions and maintain safety, the following precautions will be in place:

  • The construction area will remain securely fenced off.
  • Work will primarily take place outside of school hours, whenever possible.
  • Crews will be coordinating closely with school administration to avoid impacting school activities and student’s outdoor time.

Building and landscape restoration will continue into the summer. Once this work is completed, construction equipment and fencing will be removed, and the area will be fully restored in preparation for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. We will provide another update as we approach the project's completion.

Thank you for your patience and support as we make these improvements to provide additional learning spaces across our growing school system.
