Dear Belfast Families,
Next week is a busy one with Spirit Week, Culture Day & Parade of Nations, and parent/teacher/student conferences. We will go into spring break ready for some rest! Please be sure to read the updated Spirit Week schedule below.
Follow us on Instagram @BelfastSchoolcbe. If you do not see your child on Instagram and would like to, please complete the annual authorization form on MyCBE.
Eid Mubarak!
To all of our Muslim families who will be celebrating Eid ul Fitr to mark the end of Ramadan next week, we wish you a wonderful time with family and friends. We know that many of our students will not be attending school on Thursday next week, but ask that parents still call in the absence as a religious holiday so we know where the students are and do not call home to check.
Please Book Your School Conferences
Conferences are next week: Thursday, 4:00-8:00 PM, and Friday from 8:30-12:00. We hope to see all of you there! You can book your conferences through MyCBE.
Next Year Enrolment – Please Complete ASAP
It’s that time of year where we start to plan for the following school year. To help ensure our school is staffed appropriately and grade configurations are thoughtful, we ask that all families complete their enrolment intention for next year here. Thank you!
Reminder: Spirit Week, March 16-19
The last week of school before Spring Break, Leadership Club is hosting a Spirit Week. Please note that Culture Day and Games Day flipped due to Eid:
- Monday, March 16 – Wild Outfit & Hair Day
(How many mismatched patterns, colours, layers, etc., can you wear? How wild can you make your hair?) - Tuesday, March 17 – Extra Recess Day; St. Patrick’s Day (Wear green!)
- Wednesday, March 18 – Culture Day (Wear clothing that represents your culture)
- Thursday, March 19 – Play Games Day
Reminder: Cornerstone Youth Centre (Grade 5/6) - Free Community Opportunity!
Did you know that Cornerstone Youth Centre, located just blocks from Belfast, has free youth programming after schools, including Fridays? The CYC is non-denominational, free, and also provides food to students when they are participating in an afterschool program. Students can register for either Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays, and anyone can come Friday. If your Grade 5/6 student is home alone after school, bored, or could use some fun engagement in the community, check them out! There are some Belfast students who already attend, so your child should have some friends to walk with! You can see the monthly calendar and register your child here
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have anything you would like to share.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Meagan Lundgren
