Dear Belfast Families,
We thank those of you who have already accessed your child’s report card this past week. If you are not sure how to view the report card, please call Shelley in the office and she can walk you through it or can send you a step-by-step guide to help you.
Please remember that the report card is just one way the teacher communicates your child’s learning: conferences, emails, work sent home, PowerTeacher updates, and Google Classroom all some of the ways parents are informed of their child’s progress. Last June, roughly 74% of our parents accessed the report card; our hope is always for 100%!
The report cards no longer comment on Results: Citizenship, Character, and Personal Development for elementary students. As a fellow parent, I encourage you to touch base with your child’s teacher throughout the year and ask questions about how they are in class: Do they get along with others? Do they listen well? Participate? Demonstrate leadership? Show kindness and respect to themselves, others, and their space? Do they take risks? Help classmates who are struggling? Show perseverance when the task is challenging? All of these areas may not be included on the report card, but are also so important when you are understanding who your child is as a learner. We hope to see all parents out at conferences in March; this is a great time to ask the teacher questions like those listed above!
Follow us on Instagram!
We encourage all our families to follow our school’s Instagram account (@BelfastSchoolcbe) and visit our school website to see pictures from the week. If you do not see your child on Instagram, it may be because they do not have clearance. Please call the office if you have any questions about clearance.
Winter Walk Day
February 5, 2025 is Winter Walk Day! In keeping with our Healthy Schools Certification and our goals of spending time on the land around our school community, Belfast students will be participating in a Winter Walk next week. We encourage all families to check the weather each morning and to ensure their children are dressed appropriately to be outside.
Reminder - Spirit Week - February 10-13
Leadership Club has planned the following Spirit Days:
