Dear Belfast Families,
Despite the freezing temperatures, the students were entertained during indoor lunch this week thanks to our creative lunchroom supervisors. Our lunchroom team has special “Blue Day” bins that come out only when the weather is cold and the students need something new to do. We are so thankful to our lunchroom team, other support staff, and teachers for keeping the students entertained and active despite us not being able to be outside for much of the week.
As a reminder, we are heading into a short week next week and another short week after that because of Teachers’ Convention and Family Day.

We encourage all our families to follow our school’s Instagram account (@BelfastSchoolcbe) and visit our school website to see pictures from the week. If you do not see your child on Instagram, it may be because they do not have clearance. Please call the office if you have any questions about clearance.
Valentine’s Day
- Students may choose to bring Valentine’s cards for their classmates on Wednesday, February 12. We ask families to adhere to school expectations around Valentine’s cards:
If your child bring cards, they should bring one for everyone in the class. Names of your child’s classmates can be found on their Google Classroom - Nothing edible should accompany the cards – no food or treats
- If your family is worried about the cost of cards, we encourage you to check out dollar stores for inexpensive cards, or to have your child make their own.
Popcorn Machine Generously Donated
One of our amazing Belfast families purchased a popcorn machine for our school! With this machine, we will be having popcorn days and we will have it popping at school events, like dances and our upcoming movie night.
We talked at Council about purchasing one for our school, so we were absolutely blown away by the generosity of one of the parents who heard us at Council and decided to purchase it themselves and donate it to the school. Thank you to this family for bringing this new opportunity to our school community!
Save the Date - Family Movie Night
Speaking of popcorn, we will have our first Family Movie Night on Thursday, March 13. Doors and concession will open at 6:00 and the movies will begin at 6:30.
Leadership Club students have picked three movies: Wicked, Moana 2, and Garfield.
Families will be sent home a form after the long weekend to indicate if they plan to attend, how many family members are attending, and which movie they are selecting. There will be a cost of $2 per person to attend, with all funds raised going to our Belfast Parent Fundraising Society.

On Wednesday, February 12, Leadership students will be selling candy bags for $2 per bag. There will be gelatin-free options, and all are peanut-free. The money made from the candy sales will go to the Belfast Parent Fundraising Society. There is a limit of one bag per student.
Reminder - Friends Pizza Fundraising
Support Belfast School by stopping by Friends Pizza & Pasta on March 12, 2025. 15% of all food and drinks purchased on March 12 will be donated to Belfast School to help fund activities and resources for our students.
