Dear Belfast families,
We would like to remind you all that this weekend is a long weekend, with no school Monday due to Thanksgiving. We are thankful for so much here at our school, especially our wonderful students, staff, and families. We hope you and your family have much to be thankful for as well, and that you have a very enjoyable long weekend together.
We encourage all our families to follow our school’s Instagram account (@BelfastSchoolcbe) and visit our school website to see pictures from the week.
Casino Volunteers Still Needed...Please Help!
Belfast parents, please sign up for the Belfast School fundraiser casino (October 21 & October 22) by clicking on the link here .
We have 10 days to fill 9 spots, otherwise we will not be able to run the casino. In two days, we will earn ~$80,000 to go towards Belfast school field trips, extra computers, residency programs, physical education supplies, and much more!
Thank you to those parents who have signed up for a shift, or even two! Ask your parents, spouse, siblings, or friends if they want to volunteer for a good cause and work a shift! If you have any questions feel free to email belfastfundraisingsociety@gmail.com Thank you in advance from the Belfast Parent Fundraising Society.
Cricket Residency & Free Cricket League
We hosted a cricket residency this week from Future Cricket Stars Academy and the kids had so much fun learning about this sport! All students brought home a brochure that has a link for students to join a FREE cricket club, or to pay for the more formal competitive league. Check out Future Cricket Stars Academy here Thank you to School Council & the Belfast Parent Fundraising Society for funding this residency for our students!
Halloween Dance: Supervision & Siblings
We will be having our Halloween dance on Thursday, October 24 and are asking for parent help to ensure it all runs smoothly. Please help us by following these two requests:
1. Students must be supervised by parents at the dance; this is a School Council event, and parents are responsible for their own children. Students will not be admitted into the dance without an adult present.
2. This dance is designed for current Belfast students. We love seeing our former Belfast students who have moved onto junior high, but this is not the event for those visits.
Parent Invite from Sir John Franklin: Watch “Screenagers”
Sir John Franklin is hosting a showing of “Screenagers: Elementary School Edition” on November 7 (time TBD), and all parents are invited. The movie talks about safe screen use for children. You can learn more about this movie that is tailored to K-5 families here
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have anything you would like to share.
Have a wonderful long weekend,
Meagan Lundgren
Principal
