Dear Belfast families,
To our current families, congratulations – you made it through the school year! 180 days of making lunches, rushing kids out the door, practicing math facts, reading, finding lost mittens, volunteering for field trips, remembering all of the theme days, and attending all of the events we had. Thank you to our families for everything that you’ve done this year – you've made our school a very special place to learn!
To our new families beginning in the fall, welcome to Belfast School! I am confident that you will love our little school, and we will take wonderful care of your children. We truly are a “gem” of a school, and we can’t wait to add your family to our school community. We look forward to getting to know all of you in the new school year.
We wish you all a restful, fun, safe, and happy summer – you have certainly earned it!

Back to School 2024-2025
Some key dates and information to note below:
Our first day back to school is Thursday, August 29. There will be
coffee for parents to stay and visit during drop-off; thank you to School
Council for this!
We have a soft entry in the morning at 8:25. The bell will ring and the doors will open at that time, with the expectation that students are in
their classroom ready for learning at 8:30.
We will continue to dismiss at 3:15 Monday-Thursday and 12:15 on
Fridays
Kindergarten will attend Monday-Thursday, 8:30-11:42. There
is no school on Fridays for kindergarten students
We have staggered entry for kindergarten students only the first two
days:
August 29 and 30: 9:00-10:15 (last name A-K) and 10:30-11:45 (last
name L-Z)
We have a Family Welcome Back BBQ on Thursday, September 5 from
5:00-7:00. We hope to see all of you there! Please bring a
blanket to sit on. We will be providing the food and drinks.

Summer
Summer is a time for our school staff to rest, rejuvenate, and reconnect with their own families and friends. Our teachers will respond to summer communication when they return to work on August 26, 2024. Thank you for your patience. If there is an urgent matter, please contact Mrs. Lundgren at mllundgren@cbe.ab.ca and put "urgent" in the subject line.
Thank you for giving our staff a much-needed break over the summer!
Staffing Updates
We would like to officially welcome Melissa Holmes to our school team!
Ms. Holmes has been teaching Grade 2/3 since October, and we are so excited
that she will be able to stay with us next year!
We would like to welcome Ms. Kelli Pring to Belfast. Ms. Pring will be
our new EAL Assistant working with the LEAD classes. Ms. Pring brings a wealth of experience and energy with her and we are excited for her to start in
August!
We say goodbye officially to Ms. Janice, who has been on leave for the last few months. We wish Ms. Janice the best and thank her for her time at Belfast.
