Dear Belfast Families

Next week is Support Staff Appreciation week, and I want to take a moment to thank our incredible support staff.  We have Shelley in the front office, who has done an impressive job learning her new role; we have Sumya and Mona who are strong EAL Assistants working in our LEAD classes; we have Sarah and Laudy, our Education Assistants, who provide amazing support to our learners, and we have a caring and competent lunchroom team who keep our students safe each day:  Lorelee, Fouzia, and Astra.  Our school would not be able to run without our incredible support staff!

Follow us on Instagram!

We encourage all our families to follow our school’s Instagram account (@BelfastSchoolcbe) and visit our school website to see pictures from the week.  If you do not see your child on Instagram, it may be because they do not have clearance.  Please call the office if you have any questions about clearance.

Fun Lunch Survey – Please Complete by Friday, April 25

We have polled all students and teachers about Healthy Hunger Fun Lunches and would love to hear what parents think.  Please take two minutes to complete our Fun Lunch form and help us plan for next year:  https://forms.office.com/r/eEcuWwj9fJ

Space in Kindergarten & Kindergarten Orientation:  Thursday, May 22 6:00-7:00

If you have a child coming into kindergarten in September, please join us for our kindergarten orientation on Thursday, May 22, from 6:00-7:00.  Even if you are familiar with Belfast and have children already attending, if your younger child is starting kinder in the fall, please join us!  At this time, we also have room in our kindergarten class next year for registrations, so please let your friends and family know!

Welcome Back, Ms. Kapur!

Ms. Kapur will be joining Ms. Hutchison’s LEAD class again, beginning on April 24.  Monica has been off for the year while she began her teaching degree.  We are so happy to welcome her back to Belfast for the remaining months of the school year.  Ms. Mona will continue her time at Belfast, working with English as an Additional Language students throughout the school.

Save the Date:  Lunch with a Loved One – Wednesday, June 11 at 11:45

On Wednesday, June 11, we invite you all to join us for our first “Lunch with a Loved One”.  On this day, each student can bring a special guest – or guests - to eat with them outside, picnic style.  Students and guests provide their own lunch, but it is a Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch day as well, so feel free to order a special lunch for anyone who will attend.  The school will have some cold treats as well for our students and guests.

There will be pop-up performances by students to entertain the crowd as well.  We realize it is the middle of work week for many adults, so we want to give our families a lot of notice.  If you can’t make it, don’t worry!  Our amazing adults at the school will be lunching with all of the children we love, so no one will be left out.

**If the weather does not cooperate, we will move indoors to the gym and classrooms

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have anything you would like to share.

Have a wonderful long weekend & happy Easter to those celebrating!

Meagan Lundgren, Principal
Belfast School
